this one came to me this morning; it was a brief 'frenzy of poetic expression' that struck me while on that long ass commute *sighs*
deafen your ears/ blind your mind's eye
be certain to cover your mouth
bite your tongue/ hold your breath
don't say what you are thinking aloud
deafness-- physically-- is considered a disability
but what of the things we choose to blot out
the condition can be construed/ from the way it is viewed
many things the mind need not inquire about
deafen your ears/ blind your mind's eye
be certain to cover your mouth
bite your tongue/ grind your teeth
don't say what you are thinking aloud
